March Meeting: Joint Simulation Roundtable & ITS Subcommittee: Microsimulation of Adaptive Signal Systems

Join us for a special joint meeting with our Traffic Simulation Roundtable and the ITS Subcommittee. The presentation will focus on the art of modeling adaptive signal systems as part of the alternative selection or design process. We will focus on what it takes to model these type of systems, the level of effort involved, and how effective the results are in replicating field conditions. Miranda Wells/DKS will present on her experience using Scatsim in Pasadena, CA. Marshall Cheek/SynchroGreen will present on prior project examples using SynchroGreen.

The brown bag will be followed by a TransPort Business Meeting from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM in the same location.

February Meeting: Reflections on 20 YRS of the U.S. National ITS Program

Robert Bertini will present his views on the history and progress of the first 20 years of the U.S. National ITS program, including its legislation, evolution, and successes. Dr. Bertini had the opportunity to serve as Acting Director of the ITS Join Program Office and has been involved in ITS research and education for many years. He will reflect on his local, state, national, and international experiences and present his views on where we should move next in order to achieve greater benefits through ITS investments.

The brown bag will be followed by a TransPort Business Meeting from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM in the same location.
